About

Why I Do What I Do

Periods of change and instability can feel like being trapped inside of a storm –  losing visibility, and breaking down our navigating tools, systems and decisions. It is at this moment that we need clarity and a sense of direction. A fresh, independent perspective is necessary for guidance.

Growing up my family moved frequently, uprooting all sense of stability and comforts such as my bedroom, friends, and routine. I learned quickly that change is inevitable and is a sign of personal evolution. I experienced this later in my career, projects I managed, and when making the big move from Morocco to the US. I learned to embrace transitions from an early age into the professional field, learning to navigate the uncertainty that comes with them. This is how I ended up in international development, supporting organizations, governments, and communities in implementing positive change programs around the world.

My Experience

I have supported the United Nations Funds for Population Agency (UNFPA), the US Agency for International Development (USAID), and the Foreign, Commonwealth, & Development Office (FCDO –UK). I worked with all sizes organizations and governmental institutions and directly support various communities especially the under-served ones in Minnesota, Morocco, Madagascar, Kazakhstan, DRC, Vietnam, and Senegal. I served equally in the field strengthening communities and organizing them, as well as in strategy making and advocacy with high-level organizations and governmental institutions. My work spans across different areas from youth, gender, governance, health, Human Rights, environment, and security.

Throughout my 16-year career, I have witnessed a variation of similar challenges when organizations and individuals face any type of change. My job has always been to help ease these challenges and build new structures to support and understand what this change can bring, navigating it as a team. Working with different countries, cultures, and environments, as well as mastering multiple languages has enabled me to navigate cultural and linguistic nuances, which is crucial when building consensus and ownership of a project.

Not only do I bring my extensive international experience when working with you, I also embark on a journey with you, navigating the latest solutions and up-to-date technologies that respond to your specific needs.
